Still feeling yucky, but better than yesterday. Taking it easy. Sudafed to the rescue!

Dinner: beans & weanies
Snack: mixed nuts & Parmesan crisps

Happy birthday to my brother Reinhard!

Breakfast: smoothie

Feeling very very yucky. Napped a lot. Took cold meds. Exhausted. Went to Costco to pick up some groceries and got a rotisserie chicken for dinner. 

Snacks: mixed nuts, Parmesan crisps, and kojak cheese. 

Wed, June 14

Breakfast: smoothie

Snack: mixed nuts, Parmesan crisps, & kojak cheese 

Dinner at church, we hosted a youth bell choir from Colorado, and served dinner to them too: cheeseburger, hot dog, baked beans, slaw, a deviled egg, and fruit. 

 

Feeling tired, sniffly, & sneezy. Voice still a bit low. 

Tues, June 12

It was nice to sleep in my own bed and wake up next to my sweetie!

Breakfast/lunch: smoothie

My throat was a bit sore, my voice husky, and a couple of times during the day I had no voice at all. 

Snacks: mixed nuts, Parmesan crisps, and kojak cheese. 

Mon, June 12

Had breakfast at the terminal again: 2 eggs over hard with bacon. 

Then took the bus back to the Newark airport. I packed a can of mixed nuts to eat on the plane (EWR-OAK, about 5 hours flight time), but there was a passenger nearby allergic to nuts, so not only did they not serve peanuts on the flight, but I couldn't eat my nuts either. My only snack options were Fritos corn chips, or Ritz crackers with cream cheese, which at least have some protein, so that's what I had. 

 

Oh yeah, the rear bathroom on the plane got stopped up somewhere just before Denver, so for the last 2.5 hours of the flight, we all had to take numbers and use the front lav. Ugh. 

Once in Oakland, my flight to Burbank was delayed, so I had some fried chicken strips with ranch dressing Plus 2 beers at the Gordon Biersch place. 

Short flight to Burbank. Brianne met me there with a diet coke and McNuggets which I ate on the drive home. Plopped into bed about 10pm. 

Sun, June 11

Breakfast from the hotel grab 'n' go place: 2 muffin-sized frittatas, one with spinach & one with salmon, plus a serving of plain Greek yogurt. 

Walked over to St Patrick's Cathedral for 10:15 service, then had lunch at the Rock Café, at the Rockefeller Center. Cheeseburger (no bun) with a side of fruit. 

 

Can you believe that cost $30?? 😱

After lunch we did a guided walking tour of the Rockefeller Center which was fascinating. Then caught a cab back to the hotel to get ready to go to Carnegie! 

 

After the concert, we all did a harbor cruise. Fun! There was a buffet, but the only protein (chicken) on it had peppers in it so I couldn't eat it. However, I had to eat *something* since I was drinking (I had one fruity drink and 2 beers) and dancing. So I had white rice and a salad. Sometimes you have to make practical decisions. 

 

Got back to the hotel at about 2am. 

Sat, June 10

Breakfast at the terminal: 2 eggs over hard with bacon. 

Lunch at the terminal: 1/4 white meat chicken with veggies. 

Spent the rest of the day sleeping because I was exhausted!

Snacks: mixed nuts and string cheese. 

A Little behind

So I got a little behind on blog entries. Was busy in NYC then the flight home then I've been battling a cold all week. My next few entries will attempt to fill in the gaps.

Fri, June 9

Breakfast at Grand Central Terminal: 2 eggs over hard with tri tip steak. (I didn't have any tater tots and only a bite of English muffin.)

 

Michael's mom brought carrot cake for his birthday so I had half a piece 

Dinner at Connoly's Irish pub. I had Mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, plus chicken Parmesan with broccoli. I had 2 Guinness + Swithwicks. 

Back at the hotel for drinks, I had 2 bourbon and sodas.  Ya gotta live a little.

Thurs, June 8

No breakfast because hotel breakfast only went 6-9 and I didn't even get out of bed until almost 11. 

I ate a bag of the Protein Power Mix on my way back to the airport to catch a bus to Manhattan. After I checked into the hotel I went to Grand Central Terminal's food court and had a quarter chicken and some veggies. 

 

My friend Linda and I walked over to Broadway to see the show "Waitress" and it was great! Plus, Hillary Clinton was in the audience. Really!

 

Walked back to the hotel, too. It's a beautiful night. 👍


No morning weight, Wed, June 7

I won't be posting morning weight pics for the next week because I'm in New York to sing at Carnegie Hall! Yay!

Anyway: no breakfast

Lunch: a Waldorf salad at Burbank airport which was really good. Everything fresh & crisp!

 

Dinner: California rolls with soy sauce. I ate them at Denver. Some guy stopped and said, "wow that looks good! Where did you get it?" I said, "Burbank!"

Snacks: "Protein Power Mix" from SnakClub's "Caifornia Naturals" line. 

Also: had a Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy on the plane to Denver. Beer+lemonade. It was pretty bad. 🤢 I had a Fat Tire on the way to Newark which was better.

Tues, June 6

Breakfast: smoothie

Lunch at Downtown Burgers: I had a bunless double cheeseburger with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, & pickles with fried zucchini. They kind of overdid the lettuce-wrap, though:

 

Dinner at Coco's: Parmesan crusted chicken with grilled zucchini & tomatoes with an arugula salad with tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette. 

Mon, June 5

Breakfast: smoothie

No lunch, but had popcorn at the movies. We went to see Wonder Woman. Omg so good!!

Dinner: sautéed ground beef in salsa with 2 low carb tortillas.

Sun, June 4

Breakfast: smoothie

Dinner: leftover Lady Cream peas, etc. 

In other news: today was Pentecost, so I wore my red shirt to church. I haven't worn this shirt since Christmas Eve, and I have a pic from that day, so I made sure to take a pic yesterday too. Here it is:

Worked hard today at Timbré rehearsal!

Breakfast: smoothie

Lunch at McDonald's: they weren't serving lunch yet since it was only 10:45, so I had 3 egg mcmuffins without the muffins. 

Dinner: flatbread pizza, some with veggies and some with pepperoni.

Breakfast: 3 medium-boiled eggs (well, steamed in my egg cooker), with a low carb tortilla spread with cream cheese. 

Dinner: sprouted Lady Cream peas, soy beans, & green peas with bacon & beef tri-tip, seasoned with onion, sat & pepper, bay leaf, parsley, oregano, basil, & thyme. 

 

Yum!

Breakfast: smoothie

No lunch.

Dinner: baked chicken thighs with my mustard-pesto rub. Side dish was sautéed onions & garlic, garbanzo beans, sprouted almonds, lentils, & mung beans, plus some dilly cauliflower, and konbudashi-pickled mushrooms & onions, all with a bit of Italian seasoning, and salt & pepper. Also had a bit of sauerkraut and pickled daikon & carrots.

Other things: I cycled my kefir.
